Nuneaton MP and Hospital Staff Take the Leap for George Eliot Hospital Charity

We’re delighted to share that Jodie Gosling (Nuneaton MP) will be joined by two George Eliot Hospital staff members, Lisa Pettit and Bethany Collins, as they take on a thrilling tandem skydive in support of George Eliot Hospital Charity.

The trio will be jumping from 14,000 feet raising vital funds as part of George Eliot Hospital Charity’s 30 for 30 campaign. The Charity is celebrating 30 years of  care and hope to raise £30,000 throughout 2026 to fund specialist reclining chairs for patients receiving chemotherapy and blood treatments in the Dorothea Unit.

Each skydiver is aiming to raise a minimum of £425, helping to improve comfort and care for patients during some of their most difficult times.

Speaking about the challenge, Jodie said:
“Taking the leap for George Eliot Hospital Charity means so much to me. Knowing that this jump will help support patients and families during difficult times makes every moment of preparation worthwhile. I’m so grateful for every donation and message of support.

And I’m sure a lot of people want to see a politician jump out of a plane—so I may as well do it for a good cause!”

Lisa Harrison-Byrne, Fundraising Manager for the charity, added:
“We’re incredibly grateful to Jodie, Lisa and Bethany for supporting our 30 for 30 campaign. It’s inspiring to see both our local MP and dedicated hospital staff coming together to make a real difference for our patients. We look forward to celebrating with them all on touch down!”

The skydive will take place on Sunday 17th May 2026 at Langar Airfield, Nottingham.
