A Huge Thank You to the Stockingford Invitation Charity Cup Committee!

George Eliot Hospital Charity would like to extend its sincere thanks to the Stockingford Invitation Charity Cup Committee for their incredibly generous donation of £1,000 to our 30 for 30 Campaign.

The annual tournament, which culminated in Ambleside FC defeating Travs in the final at  Pingles Stadium on 4 May, is about far more than football. Year after year, the Committee works tirelessly to bring local teams and communities together while raising funds for local charities that make a real difference across our area.

This year, the Committee chose George Eliot Hospital Charity as one of its beneficiaries, helping us move closer to our goal of raising £30,000 to replace specialist reclining chairs in the Dorothea Unit for patients receiving chemotherapy and blood-related treatments.

Maria Holmes-Keeling, Fundraising Coordinator for George Eliot Hospital Charity, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to the Stockingford Invitation Charity Cup Committee for choosing to support our 30 for 30 Campaign. The dedication and hard work that goes into organising this tournament each year is truly remarkable, and the impact extends far beyond the football pitch. Their generosity will help improve the comfort  of hundreds of patients receiving treatment in the Dorothea Unit every week.

Thank you to the Committee, the teams and supporters who helped make this year’s tournament another outstanding success.
